Having been tasked with taking over the production for Bard Productions and SKY after the departure of the original designer, I set about creating the interior of an international space station in an adapted factory unit on the Isle of Man.
A number of pods had already been constructed and alterations started immediately, an extremely limited budget meant creating the following areas was demanding to say the least.
Medical Bay, Avionics, Science Bay, Crew Quarters, Sub Level, Hydroponics, Loading Bay, Corridors, Green Screen Studio for weightless scenes.
Guest sets were also required including Space Shuttle Flight Deck and Payload Bay.
In house scenery and prop makes were recycled repeatedly and local talent was employed to provide computer graphics and robot wrangling.
