The Fiction Factory brief demanded a secondary school interior created for a minimal budget and was achieved by complementing purchased set dressing by sourcing thousands of pounds worth of props and schoolwork from real schools who were about to dump things that were invaluable to us.
We required the following
School Reception, Staffroom, Assembly Hall and open Plan Library/ Study Space, Math’s Class, Physics Class, Biology Class, Drama Studio, 2 Welsh Classes, 2 Corridors, Head Teachers Office, Assistant Head Teachers Office, Caretakers Office and several other background spaces.
The entire school complex was provided for around £24,000.
On completion of Series 9 we had provided design requirements including sets, vehicles and action props for approximately 5,000 scenes.
