The low budget 1930’s period drama produced by Teleisyn for S4C was filmed in and around Bethesda and Bangor. A disused cottage with overgrown garden was to form the main location for the film, the overall feel of the main characters home had to have an almost fairy tale feel as Eldra had the ability to communicate with various animals. The script demanded the cottage refurb and several other cottage interiors as well as complicated street scenes in Dolgellau to be achieved on a budget of £24,000.
The production swept the board at the Bafta Cymru Awards, winning five Awards and out performing the BBC network productions nominated.
